Shimhi

Shimhi (meaning: famous or my fame) was a Benjamite listed in the genealogical record of 1 Chronicles 8:21 as one of the sons of Shimei (a different person from the Shimei of David's time). The text places him in the Benjamite clan structure recorded in 1 Chronicles 8, which traces the descendants of Benjamin through multiple generations and branches, with particular attention to the Saulide families and the residents of Jerusalem and Aijalon.

No narrative events are associated with Shimhi beyond his genealogical listing. He represents one of the many named individuals in the Chronicler's extensive tribal genealogies whose names are preserved as records of family lineage without accompanying biographical detail. The genealogies of Benjamin in 1 Chronicles 7–8 are among the most complex in the book, reflecting the historical and administrative importance of Benjamin's territory between Judah and Ephraim.
