Shobab

Shobab is a biblical name borne by two persons. (1.) A son of David born to him in Jerusalem by Bathsheba (2 Samuel 5:14; 1 Chronicles 3:5; 14:4). He is listed among the sons born to David after he became king in Jerusalem, but nothing further is recorded about him. (2.) A son of Caleb son of Hezron by his wife Azubah (1 Chronicles 2:18). He belonged to the tribe of Judah and is listed in the genealogical records of that tribe, though again without narrative detail. The name may mean returned or rebellious.
