Taanath-shiloh
Place
Taanath-shiloh (meaning "approach to Shiloh") was a town marking the eastern boundary of the territory of Ephraim (Josh. 16:6), mentioned only in the tribal boundary survey. The name suggests a location on the road approaching the sanctuary city of Shiloh. It has been tentatively identified with Khirbet Ta'na, approximately 10 miles southeast of Shechem, though the identification is uncertain. The site appears only in this single geographical reference and plays no further narrative role.
