Tabbaoth
Person Name
Name meaning: "good; goodness of the Lord"
Tabbaoth was the ancestor of a family of Nethinim (temple servants) who returned from Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:43; Neh. 7:46). The Nethinim were non-Israelite servants assigned to assist the Levites in the temple. Tabbaoth's descendants are listed among the first wave of returnees, suggesting a family with established temple service. The name means "rings" or "signet rings."
