Taberah

Taberah (meaning "burning") was a place in the wilderness where the LORD's fire broke out against the Israelites when they complained (Num. 11:1–3). The fire burned on the outskirts of the camp; Moses prayed and the fire was quenched, but the place was named Taberah to commemorate the judgment. Moses later recalled it as one of Israel's repeated provocations of God in the wilderness (Deut. 9:22). The episode underscores the deadly seriousness of grumbling against the divine provision.
