Tahpenes

Tahpenes was an Egyptian queen, wife of an unnamed Pharaoh, who played a role in sheltering Israelite fugitives (1 Kgs. 11:19–20). When Hadad the Edomite prince fled to Egypt after David's general Joab killed the Edomite males, Pharaoh received him favorably and gave him the sister of Queen Tahpenes in marriage. Tahpenes weaned the resulting son, Genubath, in Pharaoh's household alongside the royal children. This alliance provided Solomon with a persistent adversary: Hadad returned to Edom and became a thorn in Solomon's side (1 Kgs. 11:14–22).
