Tanhumeth

Tanhumeth the Netophathite was the father of Seraiah, one of the Judean military captains who came to Gedaliah at Mizpah after the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem (2 Kgs. 25:23; Jer. 40:8). These captains pledged their allegiance to Gedaliah as the Babylonian-appointed governor and were told to settle throughout the land and serve the king of Babylon. The name Netophathite indicates origin from Netophah, a village near Bethlehem. Tanhumeth himself plays no narrative role; he is known only as the father of Seraiah.
