Titus of Bostra

Titus, bishop of Bostra in Arabia (died c. 378), was a fourth-century churchman best known for his treatise Against the Manichaeans. His homiletic comment on Luke is preserved in Greek exegetical catenae, from which it passes into later Gospel compilations.

Best known for his careful refutation Against the Manichaeans — a key defence of the goodness of the Creator and the moral seriousness of the law — Titus also commented on the Gospel of Luke. That homiletic material survives in the Greek catenae and feeds into later Gospel compilations, preserving a fourth-century Eastern reading of the third Gospel.
