Uzzi

Uzzi (meaning: the LORD is my strength) is the name of several persons in the Old Testament. (1) The son of Bukki and a descendant of Aaron in the high-priestly line, listed in both 1 Chronicles 6:5–6, 51 and Ezra 7:4 as an ancestor of Ezra. (2) A grandson of Issachar through Tola, who is listed as a mighty man of valor whose descendants numbered 22,600 fighting men at the time of David's census (1 Chr. 7:2–3). (3) A son of Bela of Benjamin (1 Chr. 7:7). (4) A Benjaminite who was the father of Elah, a post-exilic settler in Jerusalem (1 Chr. 9:8). (5) A Levite overseer of the Levites who dwelt in Jerusalem, son of Bani, in Nehemiah's time (Neh. 11:22). (6) A priest who participated in the dedication of the rebuilt walls of Jerusalem (Neh. 12:42).

The frequency of the name Uzzi across multiple tribes and periods reflects its theological meaning's broad appeal as an affirmation of divine strength.
