Wagon

Wagons (Hebrew aghalah, from the root meaning "to roll") were wheeled carts drawn by oxen and used for transporting goods and people. The word is translated both "wagon" and "cart" in the King James Bible. In Genesis 45:19, 21, 27, Pharaoh sends wagons to bring Jacob and his household down to Egypt at Joseph's invitation. Numbers 7:3–8 records that the leaders of Israel brought six covered wagons and twelve oxen as offerings at the dedication of the tabernacle; these were assigned to the Gershonites and Merarites for transporting the tabernacle components, while the Kohathites bore the holy vessels on their shoulders. The Philistines used a wagon (1 Samuel 6:7–14) to return the ark of the LORD, pulled by milk cows. David's ill-fated attempt to transport the ark on a new cart (2 Samuel 6:3–7) resulted in the death of Uzzah and a change to the proper Levitical method of carrying it on poles.
