Zaanannim

Zaanannim is another spelling of Zaanaim, the plain near Kedesh in Naphtali where Heber the Kenite encamped and where Jael killed Sisera (Judges 4:11). The name may mean wanderings or refer to a type of tree (the terebinth). The Septuagint sometimes renders the location as the oak in Bezaanannim. The site is a landmark in the narrative of Deborah and Barak's victory over Jabin king of Hazor and serves as the setting for one of Scripture's most memorable episodes of unexpected deliverance.
