Zaccai
Person Name
Name meaning: "pure meat; just"
Zaccai was the head of a family of 760 members who returned to Jerusalem from the Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:9; Nehemiah 7:14). The family is simply listed among the families identified by their ancestor's name who came back in the first return. Zaccai himself presumably lived in the pre-exilic period; the family preserved his name as its founding figure through the exile. The name means pure or just.
