Zatthu
Person Name
Name meaning: "olive tree"
Zatthu (also Zattu) was the ancestor of a family of 945 members who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:8; Nehemiah 7:13). Some members of his family had intermarried with foreign women and are listed in Ezra 10:27 as participants in the penitential assembly that dissolved those marriages. A Zatthu also set his seal to Nehemiah's covenant of renewal (Nehemiah 10:14). The family appears to have been a substantial one in the early post-exilic community.
