Zebudah
Person Name
Name meaning: "endowed; endowing"
Zebudah was the mother of Jehoiakim king of Judah, daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah (2 Kings 23:36). She is identified in the regnal summary at the beginning of Jehoiakim's reign, following the standard formula for Judean kings that names both the king's age at accession and his mother. Jehoiakim (originally named Eliakim) was placed on the throne by Pharaoh Neco after he deposed his brother Jehoahaz, and he reigned eleven years. His reign was marked by subservience to Egypt and then Babylon and by hostility to the prophet Jeremiah. The name Zebudah means endowed or given.
