Zeeb

Zeeb (meaning wolf) was one of two princes of Midian (with Oreb, meaning raven) captured and killed by the men of Ephraim during the rout following Gideon's defeat of the Midianite host (Judges 7:25; 8:3). The Ephraimites were called up to capture the fords of the Jordan and prevent the Midianites' escape. They captured Oreb at the rock of Oreb and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb, and brought their heads to Gideon across the Jordan. Isaiah 10:26 later invokes the slaughter at the rock of Oreb as a type of God's future judgment on Assyria: the LORD of hosts will wield against them a whip, as when he struck Midian at the rock of Oreb.
