Zia

Zia was a Gadite who dwelt in Bashan, listed in the tribal genealogy of Gad in 1 Chronicles 5:13. The Gadites in Bashan are described as mighty men of valor — men able in war and skilled with shield and sword — who occupied the region east of the Jordan from Bashan to Salecah. Zia appears only in this genealogical list among seven heads of the houses of their fathers' clans. The name may mean sweat or trembling. Nothing further is known of this individual beyond the brief genealogical mention.
