Zibeon

Zibeon was a Horite clan chief of Seir in Edom (Genesis 36:20, 24, 29; 1 Chronicles 1:38, 40). His son Anah discovered the hot springs (or mules — the Hebrew yemim is textually debated) in the wilderness while keeping his father's donkeys (Genesis 36:24). Anah was also the father of Oholibamah, one of Esau's wives — making Zibeon a grandfather-in-law of Esau (Genesis 36:2). Zibeon is also listed as a son of Seir the Horite in Genesis 36:20, though Genesis 36:2 appears to give him as a Hivite — a textual difficulty that has generated significant scholarly discussion about the distinction between Horites and Hivites in the biblical text.
