Zillah

Zillah (meaning: shadow; the tingling of the ear) was one of the two wives of Lamech, a descendant of Cain in the antediluvian genealogy of Genesis 4:19–22. By Lamech she bore Tubal-cain, the forger of cutting instruments of bronze and iron, and his sister Naamah. Zillah's co-wife was Adah, mother of Jabal and Jubal.

Lamech's address to his wives in Genesis 4:23–24 — the "Song of the Sword" — is the earliest recorded poem in Scripture and reflects a boast of vengeance far exceeding the divine protection granted to Cain. Zillah and Adah are thus witnesses to the culture of violence and craft that characterized the line of Cain before the flood.
