Zior

Zior (meaning: littleness) was a city in the hill country of Judah, listed among the towns allotted to that tribe in Joshua 15:54. Easton identifies it with the modern village of Si'air, located approximately four and a half miles north-northeast of Hebron in the highlands of Judah. It appears only in this one verse in the allotment list and is not mentioned elsewhere in Scripture.

Si'air (Khirbet Si'ir) sits in the same mountainous district as Hebron and Debir, a region that played a central role in the early Israelite settlement of Canaan. The name Zior — suggesting smallness — is consistent with a minor village in the broader Hebron highlands.
