Ziphron

Ziphron (meaning: falsehood of a song; rejoicing) was a town on the northern border of the land of Canaan as defined in Numbers 34:9, lying southeast of Hamath. It served as one of the boundary markers delimiting the northern extent of the promised land. Its precise location has not been established with certainty by modern archaeology.

The northern border description in Numbers 34 runs from the Great Sea (Mediterranean) eastward through Hazar-enan and Ziphron to Hazar-enan, defining an idealized boundary that Israel rarely controlled fully during the monarchy period. Ziphron appears only in this boundary passage and is otherwise unattested in Scripture.
