Zithri

Person Name

Name meaning: "to hide; demolished"

Zithri (meaning: to hide; demolished — or "the Lord protects") was a Levite of the Kohathite clan, listed as a son of Uzziel, brother of Mishael and Elzaphan (Ex. 6:22). He appears in the Levitical genealogy of Exodus as a nephew of Aaron and a cousin of Moses, part of the generation that served during the Exodus and wilderness period. No further deeds or biography are recorded for him in Scripture.

The sons of Uzziel are referenced in Numbers 3:30 as heads of Kohathite clans responsible for the most sacred items of the tabernacle. Zithri's inclusion in the Exodus genealogy places him within the inner circles of the Levitical hierarchy, though he remains a minor figure compared to his more prominent cousin-relatives.
