Zizah

Zizah was a Gershonite Levite, listed as one of the sons of Shimei in the organization of Levitical clans under David (1 Chr. 23:11). His brothers were Jahath, Zina (or Zina's variant Zizah itself — the texts show a minor variation), and Jeush. Because Jeush and Zizah had few sons, they were reckoned together as a single father's house rather than being divided into separate clans.

Zizah may be the same individual as Zina in 1 Chronicles 23:10, with the two names representing a scribal variation or alternate form within the tradition. The Gershonite Levites under David's organization were responsible for portions of the tabernacle's fabric coverings and for musical service in the sanctuary.
