Zophah

Person Name

Name meaning: "viol; honeycomb"

Zophah (meaning: viol; honeycomb) was a son of Helem (also called Hotham) and a chief of the tribe of Asher, listed in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 7:35–36. His sons are enumerated in verse 36 as Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera — a substantial list of Asherite family heads. Nothing further is recorded of Zophah himself beyond his lineage and the names of his sons.
